My Stars

First shown as My Stars in 2006 at Mashrabia Gallery of Contemporary Art and Espace Karim Francis, Cairo: large portraits of the singers, actors, writers and public figures of El Siwi's childhood, among them Om Kalthoum, Abdel Halim Hafez, Soad Hosny and Salah Jahin.

El Siwi described the project as recovering memory and reclaiming “my adolescence and formation.”
